It's hard to say what, precisely, makes Joss stand out so much from her peers. Of course, there are the obvious things that do set her apart, but really, it is difficult to pinpoint just one. In general, Joss is just different from everyone--but in a good way, obviously. At 5'8'', she is fairly tall for a female and she has always been slender. Added to that, she's got her mother's figure, so she's been curvy since she was about ten [which is traumatizing for a ten year old, but really gets better with age]. She more glides than walks [in her opinion] and is very much the hip-swayer. It's almost like she's constantly on the runway.
And like the runway, Joselyn would never ever let herself be seen dressed in anything but the best. Her clothes are expensive and she would not be caught dead in anything that wasn't nor would she ever settle for something that didn't look perfect. Likewise, she does not buy gaudily expensive clothes, with jewels and ridiculous embroideries, because those don't look perfect, they look stupid. And Joss never looks stupid.
Her hair has always been a sort of dark honey color and very curly. However, since she learned how, she's been attacking it viciously with a straightener or any other form of something that would tame it, so no one can really tell. Likewise, it is far more manageable in its relaxed state. Her eyes are a darker brown, almond shaped, and she never wears too much makeup around them. Just enough for accents. And really, that's how all of her makeup is. She has never in her life gone for the painted-on look or anything too contrasty; she likes to look clean and smooth and that is the job of her makeup.personality
Joselyn is not a bitch jsut for the sake of being a bitch, it's more because Joss is far too intolerant. Anything less than perfect [or what she deems perfect] deserves to be ridiculed. Since she herself is perfect [and would take similar ridicule without fuss if she weren't], she does not feel bad in the least for being this way. It may come as no surprise, then, that she does not make friends very easily. Which is quite alright with her--solitude is far more manageable and doesn't involve juggling of social circles and complicated things like that. Unfortunately, she does seem to attract a certain type of friend. As, while she is a bit prickly, she does have a sympathy gland somewhere and she just always seems to get along better with social outcasts.
Perhaps it's because, despite her looks and attitude, she has always considered herself a social outcast. Not with any sort of bitter feeling, either. As mentioned, she does not particularly mind not having friends--she's got a big enough family to keep her occupied when she's bored--but she understands that some people just need friends and, as who she is, she can't help but reaching out. And she is, deep, depp down somewhere, a nice person, she just is not afraid to say anything that she feels needs to be said. Added to that, it is far easier to be mean than to be nice, since then no one has the chance to get to know you. Which is just an added bonus, since Joss is not a fan of being hurt, obviously.
Joss has the tragic flaw of being plagued by vanity. Of course, she does not see it as a flaw, since it always drives her to look her best [at all times], but nonetheless, it can be a bit hassling. She refuses to be seen when not looking perfect, lest people get the wrong idea. With her curves and looks, she makes a pretty good flirt and she does so enjoy flirting, though she isn't really into dating. Being that open with someone frightens her; she's learned from her past. Unfortunately, despite that, she's a bit of a hopeless romantic. But she would never say such a thing. She does, however, make her approval known by not descriminating against other's relationships. If people want to get hurt, they are free to do so and she is not going to stop them.family & history

HISTORY:
New York City/Pennsylvania
George and Maria Allaway never actually wanted a big family, since neither of them came from particularly large ones. They did both come from a bit of money, but neither of them really counted that as a reason to necessitate mass amounts of children. When their own fortune from George's business [and partially from Maria's excellent journalistic skills] started rolling in, however, they decided to have their first child, Joselyn. It was a long decision process, but they felt they were ready. They were, after all, old enough and it was most definitely time to have a child. And, after that, everything changed.
It wasn't long at all before they decided to have their second child. The fact that it was a boy made it even more precious, since now their little family was lovely and balanced. But that quickly changed, because soon, their dream of a small family had expanded, which meant that their family was about to expand. They could afford it, after all. So George and Maria packed up and bought a bigger house in PA, which they moved their two children to before getting pregnant with the third. This worked out quite nicely, since George could be out earning money and Maria, being a journalist, could stay in and earn it.
The next four children came and unbalanced their evenly-gender-ratioed family, but that was okay by Maria and George, who were just so delighted with their growing herd, it didn't matter the sex of their offspring. Joselyn grew up, never wanting for attention, but obviously having to share the attention with her siblings. This came in handy, of course, when she needed the blame off herself or something like that and has given her a taste for never quite being in the spotlight. Of course, she has always liked to be glamorous--but that is the only thing she'd like to be called out on, thank you very much.
Since she developed young and was always wealthy enough to purchase above-standard clothing, it was no wonder that, by the time she was thirteen, people were whistling to her in the streets. When she was fourteen, she was enticed into a relationship--he was seventeen at the time, so it wasn't quite illegal yet. It didn't take long for Joss to fall head-over-heels, madly in love with this guy, who was showing her attention she could only dream of. Of course, there were always plenty of guys crushing on her--she was, after all, startlingly gorgeous for her age--but none of them were older, specifically seventeen and with a driver's license. And none of them, none of them, would have told her they loved her.
Which, of course, Nick did. All the time. So much, in fact, that Joselyn believed it with every ounce of her tweenie heart and believed that she, too, loved him. She had so much faith in both of these things that, yes, she made some decisions she regretted. A year later, he had clearly moved on, if the blonde, older girl was any indication. Joss was devastated at his lack of fidelity, but she was never the type to wallow in her own misery for more than a day or so. And after that day of mourning, Joss was never really quite the same. She [and almost everyone else] attributes her general distaste for relationships of any sort to him.
She would feel much better and far less bitter about the whole situation if, after that, Nick had just left her alone. Unfortunately, periodically, he likes to come and beg her to take him back. Joss has always been a strong girl, so she has never wavered, but there were times when she'd wanted to. Because she just needed a change, she decided to go to boarding school after her sophomore year in highschool. And where better to go than overseas, right? Right. Now, since he can't physically reach her, he occasionally calls and writes, but that's about it. And while Joss is still a frigid bitch, she is far happier here than she was back there.dream form
She's a cat because she's catty. Haha. Get it? >>
<<
</fail> But no, srsly.
Joselyn's dream form is a white cat; not too big, but definitely not small either. As mentioned before, she is very catty, and cats are generally bitches. Likewise, cats are very haughty and unaffectionate, pretty much like Joselyn.
Unfortunately, Joselyn's dream form has claws and, when not trapped by the real world and reputation and whatnot, her intolerance tends to spark her temper. Though cats are lazy, Joss' exacerbated temper is not, and she will likely actually claw your eyes out if you anger her in dream form.
