Memories. Little bits of thought that most simply took for granted. Many forgotten as soon as they were formed. Yet these little bits were the most valuable commodity for a certain purple kitsune. That was what had brought him out to this particular region today. Memories, but not his own.
The little masked fellow trotted along the marble pillars, dodging the occasional random object that fell from the sky here. He often wondered where these objects came from, and why they only fell in this region. Today though he was looking for something special. He'd discovered that every so often lost memories would sometimes manifest here, and near the ocean. In either case the memories would appear as an overly large bubble, simply floating along. The only difference between these bubbles and a normal one, was that nothing could pop them... except Tetroneaque's amulet.
Tetroneaque scanned the area. There were none of the stray memories anywhere that he could see. With luck however that might change.
"Why is it that I can never find what I want, when I want it? Seems so unfair." He complained to himself as he crossed his arms and continued to look around the area.

“Saraphim believes that you exaggerate what is fair and unfair. Do you work for what you want or do you just take it? Is just taking fair?” A moving porcelain doll moved jeeringly next to the kitsune, a tiny silver bell in its rigid right hand dinging as it walked. Looking just as if it was a Victorian child’s playtoy animated in the dream world Sara wore a frilly pink dress and had long, cascading blonde curls, perfectly coifed. It was a lovely creation but had just a hint of something creepy to it – though one wouldn’t see it right away. Little did anyone know upon the first look that the doll had another face just around the other side of it, the second face cracked and oozing with something black and probably foul smelling.
“Life is unfair. Only death is fair. It is equal, does not judge, therefore it is fair. But what do fuzzy dream creatures know of death?” The creepy little doll’s mouth moved, the smooth glass grating as it spoke in a high-pitched off-centered voice, almost like that of a ventriloquist with a wooden dummy. “Sara wants to know what the fuzzy creature is looking for..?”

Tetroneaque was a little startled when he spotted the doll talking to him. The kitsune had always hated puppets, dolls, and mannequins of all sorts and this one was no exception. The fact that it talked simply made it more detestable. Yet it had asked a question, in a rather round about manner, but it was a question none the less. Tetroneaque was glad he was wearing his mask at the moment, as it hid the fact he was making a face at the doll.
"Well, little doll, what I seek are memories. Discarded thoughts of living things. You'd be surprised how often one can find them simply floating about without a purpose." He stated as he strolled around the doll. He simply walked circles around it, inspecting it from all angles. One could never be too careful in this world after all. He made no move to get any closer to it.
"Of course finding the specific memories I seek is proving quite difficult, as the memories I want are somewhat rarer than most. I seek memories of another world." Tetroneaque paused his pacing when he was behind the doll, he sniffed the air. This little doll had a strange scent. It was hidden under the unique odor of the doll itself, which was less than pleasant, but it was a scent he'd smelled a few times before. He recognized it as that scent of a dream form, and not a dream being.
"Would you happen to know anything about this other world?" Tetroneaque asked as a sly smile spread across his face, mimicking the expression on his mask.

“Sara thinks the other world is empty.” The glassy eyed doll spoke, the sound of tinkling bells and grating porcelain oozing out of her while her opposite cracked side spoke in mirror images. Corentin, herself, was a strange person and therefore had a very strange dream form. Being the twin who had survived and taken her brother’s life in the womb left her emotionally scarred before the girl had even known what emotions were. The blonde girl in the real world was much like her representative dream form, the shell of something that was once whole. Her memories consisted of strange, manipulative relationships with others filled with a distinct sense of loneliness.
“Are discarded memories forgotten memories?” The doll was curious and spun around as the fox circled her, trying to keep up. Dainty, tiny high-laced boots tripped her form suddenly and she crumpled. One might have thought that the double sided porcelain doll would break from the action, but miraculously, just like any other living thing, the doll stood up awkwardly, still jerking from its stiff joints. “Can Fuzzy tell Sara what memories she has forgotten?” In the Dream World, the doll was entirely obsessed with the things it could not remember and things it had never known. The sound of grating glass came again as the doll tilted its head at the fuzzy kitsune.

"It's possible that these discarded memories are ones that someone or something has forgotten. It's hard to tell though. For all I know they could be part of someone's mind that has already died." He said with a shrug. He continued to circle the doll, holding back a snicker when she fell. He'd secretly hoped she'd shatter into a million pieces. No such luck though.
"As for memories you've forgotten. I have no idea to tell what you've forgotten. If you'd like to forget something in particular though, I could help you out easily." He stretched a little as he spoke, titling his head to one side as he continued to examine the doll.
"So tell me, do you have any memories you'd rather not have?" His voice was sly, yet still seemed friendly somehow. It was a question he loved to ask, as it usually ended up with him walking away with a few new memories to paw at.

The porcelain doll pondered for a moment, her little bell jingling in the wind as she did so. Somewhere in the distance she heard the sound of something falling from the sky and crashing into the sound. “Sara isn’t sure if she wants to barter with Fuzzy just yet.” The doll moved her tiny, porcelain fingers against her mouth and the screeching sound of glass against glass came again, like nails on a chalkboard.
“What does Saraphim get from the Fuzzy Creature if she shares her memory? And what does Fuzzy want with Sara’s memories, anyway? Are they worth anything?” A look gleamed in the figure’s eyes as something she was fiercely concerned with came into play – wealth. “But perhaps Sara has something she wants to forget… Something important. Something about life in the other world.” The little porcelain doll sat down on the ground beneath her, the pink cotton of her dress pooling around her delicately. Setting the bell down with an off-key clank, she waited for the kitsune to pursue her obviously precious memories. The doll’s glassy blue eyes stared up at him, unblinkingly.

Tetroneaque quirked an eyebrow at the doll, though the gesture was wasted due to his mask still being on. He let out a slow quiet chuckle as he plopped down on the ground, sitting on his haunches, his three tails sticking out from under his robe and wagging furiously.
"What do you get out of this? Why happiness of course." He stated as he spread his hands.
"I help you forget a painful memory, thus making you happier for having forgot. No one likes to relive painful past moments after all. I simply provide a service is all, and quite cheaply. I simply keep the unwanted memory as payment. It's all quite simple." He of course left out the little fact that he'd remove another memory as well just for kicks. That always made things more interesting, for him anyway.
