Starring: Carissa Adelina Morgan Mood: Surprised, Sincere, Lost in Translation Thought Clothes: Blue Short Sleeve Tee with Pooh on it, Black tights, Blue Ballet Shoes, Small Brown Bag If there was anything that comforted Carissa it was music. But she wasn't in the mood for it surprisingly enough. Her flute was tucked carefully in her trunk, still in its case, and her Mp3 was as well, tucked in the small pocket of her newly packed bookbag. She was ready for classes, no doubt, but she didn't want to study ahead at that moment either. She wanted something for leisure but also solidarity. Reading.
After a quick check of the floor plan, she found the library and headed towards it. She easily swept through the small bunches of students she found along the way, keeping herself light on her toes in her ballet flats. In her arms was a small bag with a list inside it, books that she had yet to read and were hoping that this vast library would have it. It was one of the things that her parents had promised her and she had promised to use the list to keep her mind of Carter.
She stopped suddenly at that thought, barely missing being run over by an older boy who was smart enough to sidestep her. Her poor brother was stopped in time essentially, caught in his own mind with no one to talk to but himself. He didn't even have Carissa to talk to mentally like he had at the hospital. Shaking her head, Carissa walked slower now, still lost in her thoughts about her brother and family.
Upon entering the library, she listlessly raised the list from her bag to her brown eyes and gazed over it blindly, simply taking note of the first book on the list. The Inferno by Dante. The title crossed her mind as familiar and she realized that it was the first on the list because she had read it when she was younger and didn't completely understand it. Heading towards that section, she realized that she was entering into what seemed to be upperclassmen territory. They were barely giving her a second glance and that suited her just fine because she felt that she was not up to meeting anyone new as of yet.
Reaching the aisle and looking through the titles, her small rough fingers grazed through the spines, finding all of the titles foreign to her. This caused a smile to her face because it meant that this school was challenging and she liked that. "At least this will keep me occupied for four years." Her voice was a soft whisper, acceptable in the library. Taking the book she had come for, she pulled it off the shelf and began to skim it while walking out the aisle in hopes of sitting down to read in peace. She didn't expect to bump into someone taller than her and promptly stumble back into the bookshelf behind her.
"Oof!" The impact made her drop the book and gasp, surprised that it had actually hurt a bit. Shaking her head and rubbing her arm slightly, she looked up at the person she had bumped into. "I'm sorry. Are you hurt at all? I'm sorry I wasn't looking where I was going." Her apology was sincere, if a bit rushed, and the other students in the library were snickering a bit at her clumsiness. It made sense though, she had, after all, managed to bump into someone in this spacious place. [/color][/blockquote]

There was something really calming about libraries. Especially the ones that looked aged and had more books then you thought possible. At least, possible for a school library. None of the schools Artis had been to prior to Somnium had nearly the amount that this library did. It was a labyrinth at times, and it often made her muse whether it was possible that there was a least one copy of every book ever published sitting on the shelves.
Needless to say, it was often where she spent her time. Though, not because she was a steadfast studier, nor, even because she was a great book worm. Simply being in the sanctuary of the library was so inviting that she often came to mediate. Which was what she had being doing for the last hour, her deck of tarot cards at hand.
Today she was concentrating on the Empress Card. This card is often considered the ‘mother’ and can be interpreted as the growth of an idea before it turns into action. Being that Artemis had been thinking of idea for English project, she thought now would be the best time to move on over to that section of the library and expand upon her ideas.
One moment Artis was standing there, staring somewhat blankly at a shelf not sure if a play by Tennessee Williams or novel by Neil Gaiman would be more appropriate (only one of those authors had something to do with the assignment). And the next moment she was on the ground, knocked into by a girl that she was fairly certain was a freshman. The girl fell against the bookshelf in surprise, dropping her books.
At first, Artis was just confused. She was being a little spacey, after all. She heard snickering from the few people around them, and frowned slightly to herself. People could be soo… people like at times. She looked back at the girls and shook her head. Artis wasn’t exactly playing attention, but it seemed as though the Possible-Freshman was apologizing to her.
”No worries at all. Nothing in the world to be sorry about. I’m just at fault. I mean, you couldn’t hardly be expected to watch out for loonies standing in the middle of the aisle, now can you?” Reaching out a hand to her, she smiled warmly. ”Now, thre real question is: are you alright? You did seem to hit the bookcase rather hard.” Clothes: long flowy white skirt with small blue flowers, brown Greek sandals, white silk button down, quarter sleeve, collared shirt, light brown vest

Starring: Carissa Adelina Morgan Mood: Sincere, Happier Clothes: Blue Short Sleeve Tee with Pooh on it, Black tights, Blue Ballet Shoes, Small Brown Bag At hearing the older girl's reply Carissa relaxed visibly, glad that she wasn't hurt at all. Or, she wasn't making it known at least. Taking the girl's hand with an honest smile, Carissa quickly noticed that the others had stopped being childish and were now ignoring that, or at least making them part of the background.
"I don't think you're a loony, but I think we can both watch out for some when they are standing in the middle of the aisle." She replied, giving her a grin now. Perhaps the trip to the library wasn't just going to be for bookworm-ish reasons now.
"Don't worry about it, the bump was nothing much, just surprising. I'm Carissa Morgan by the way, year ten." She wove her introduction there somewhat seamlessly and hoped that this friendly older girl would also confide in her her name. She did seem really friendly and perhaps could tell Carissa everything she would need to know about Somnium, almost like an unofficial Big Sib. They were useful in her old school.
