character basics
NICKNAMES: Pete, Petey
AGE: 16
GROUP: Student
YEAR: Year 11
BIRTHDAY: 12th October
GENDER: Male
PLAY-BY: Jeremy Sumpterappearance
At five feet nine inches Peter is quite average in height. His hair is a light brown, although it turns blonder in Summer, and is cut into a short and neat style, which is swept slightly over to one side. His complexion is fair and his cheeks are dusted with small freckles. His choice of clothes are usually casual, loose shirt with jeans being main outfit that he opts for when out of school uniform. He doesn't have any particularly defining features and has an overall pleasant, yet not exceptional, appearance.personality
Likes: classical music (he is a lover of Chopin); reading and books; dusk; watching people; daydreaming; playing the violin; writing in his journal.
Dislikes: being ignored (although he never attempts to make himself known); loud and obnoxious people; loud and obnoxious music; exceptionally bright lights; his dream form.
Fears: being forgotten; being lonely for the rest of his life; confidence.
Goals: to become a concert violinist (if he can get over his nerve); to be more confident.
Peter suffers from a severe case of shyness. He rarely talks to people and finds it almost impossible to approach others. Despite his wish to become more confident he is just simply unable to get over his own crippling doubt of himself. He has very low self-esteem, thinking that even if he did speak up his words wouldn't really matter as he wouldn't have anything interesting to say. Therefore he keeps to the sidelines, watching the confident people do the things that confident people do. He cannot help but be jealous of them and has no idea why he is so incapable of acting the same way.
Peter is constantly questioning his actions. He always looks but rarely ever leaps. He is, however, a very skilled violinist, practising most every day. He secretly would adore playing in front an audience but would probably faint from stage freight beforehand.
His dislike of social situations makes him seem like a loner whilst inside Peter is desperately craving friendship. If a person ever manages to get to know him they will find out about his kindness and his great love of music. What Peter wants is someone to have faith in him, although he may end up depending on that person too much when what he in fact he needs is to embrace his own individuality.family & history
FATHER: Arthur Ipswitch, 51, Bankrupt Banker
MOTHER: Clara Ipswitch, 40, Housewife
SIBLINGS: Edward Ipswitch, 25, Half-brother
HISTORY:
Before Birth: Peter's parents met in London when Clara was working as a Summer intern for Arthur's banking firm. Clara, who was only twenty-two years old at the time, was extremely attractive and Arthur felt an instant pull towards her. Arthur, however, was a married man, and he even had a seven year old son. This fact didn't stop the whirlwind of an affair that followed, though. Two years later Clara became pregnant with Peter and Arthur's wife found out about the affair. After a messy divorce Arthur and Clara hastily got married just one week before Peter was to be due.
Childhood: Peter had a lonely childhood. His father was always working and although his mother was a housewife and stayed at home, she barely spoke to him. It was obvious from the start that the family was an unhappy one. His mother had lost her youth to raise a child she hadn't wanted and his father had given up his old family to live with a woman he no longer felt attracted to. Not only that but Peter's half-brother, Edward, despised him and his mother for breaking up his once loving home.
Teens: When Peter turned thirteen his father lost his job. There was a great fraud scandal at the banking firm Arthur worked at and Arthur had been the scape goat of the whole incident. The family soon found themselves worse off than they ever had been, with even a possible prison sentence on the horizon for Arthur. Clara left Arthur at that point, taking Peter with her to live with her parents.
What is in stall for Peter as time goes on is unknown.dream form
Peter's dream form is a shadow version of himself. He can pass through walls and camouflage himself easily in darkness; however when a bright light is shone in his direction he becomes powerless and nearly invisible except for a faint, ghostly outline of his figure. His dream form represents his extreme shyness and his own fear of being forgotten. When in his dream form a great amount of concentration is required for him to interact with objects, otherwise his body would just pass through what he's trying to hold.
