Serin stretched out on her new bed. She was nervous, she'd give it that. She'd never shared a room with anyone before, and she was quite sure the other girl who was going to be staying here was a complete stranger to her. Even though the girls were all sorted out by grade, she never paid enough attention to the other people around her. She'd never found a reason to.
It was getting late she mused. She looked out the window and saw the moon high in the air. She lifted her stuffed animal up to see it too. "Isn't it pretty Cain...?" she murmured. Sleep was ready to take her, but she wasn't ready for sleep. She was more than eager to meet the new person she'd be sleeping less than 10 feet away from.
The thought made her shudder.
She hoped whoever it was was nice. Someone unlike that Victory girl.

Benji entered her room late. She had been sneaking around the campus searching for caffeine pills as she had, regretfully, ran out. This wasn’t as much of a problem as it had been in the past, but Elliot was off on one of his super long “disappearances” and Demens Inn was simply not the same without him. And smoke boy didn’t seem to like her all too much, plus he was hard to get a hold of as he was always floating on the wind.
So she went on a search for pills, even thinking about sneaking off campus and buying some. But it was getting late and the towns people knew the Academy students shouldn’t be out at that time. Benji was desperate, and in her desperation she felt tempted to break into the nurse’s office and steal some of Ehrlich’s pills he was always popping. But she couldn’t bring herself to it. If she was caught, she might have to explain the reason she was avoiding the Dream World, which was ridiculous since he was doing the same thing.
Feeling disappointed and very frustrated, Benji walked into her room and found her new roommate holding up a stuffed animal as though she was offering it up to the moon. It was a little strange, but really, Benji couldn’t talk about strange all too much. She was, after all, one of the most flighty, strange temper girls around. One minute she seemed perfectly fine, the next she was ‘storming off’ in order to hide one of her many panic attacks. And despite her fear of males, it seemed that lately all her friends happened to be of the opposite sex. The real friends, that was.
”Oh. Hello… I’m Odolina Benjamin-Elmore, you may call me Benji. I guess I’m your new roommate.”

Serin looked toward the other girl in the room and smiled. She turned her whole body around on the bed, something Cain taught her was very important when talking to people. Something about making an impression and body language being another means to communicate. Serin hadn't really cared about making a good impression but she liked impressing Cain by doing the things he asked her to. It made her feel like she was melting on the inside when she just could tell he was proud of her.
"I'm Serinthel Haberin, but you can feel free to drop the 'thel' and just call me Serin. If you ever feel the need to address me at all I suppose, seeing as we are roommates, I imagine you'll address me eventually and when you do, well, now you know what to call me by," she rambled on, quite pleasant with explaining something that didn't quite need it. As Benji would be sure to notice with time, Serin was out of touch of reality and the girl simply lacked the proper social skills to carry on average conversation. She wanted to continue on with her ramble, and perhaps introduce Cain but she finally took the time to study Benji.
"You look dead tired," Serin said.
Way to point out the obvious. Serin frowned a little bit. Cain didn't always have to be so damn mean to her whenever he made an unwanted comment on whatever conversation she was having.
"Why aren't you sleeping?"
You lack tact too! Cain was a ashamed that Serin hadn't learned anything about conversation after all the times she witnessed him work his magic with words in the Dream World, but he was pleasantly surprised that she'd been perceptive enough to see the signs that her own roommate was depriving her own body of sleep.
