Okay, Sen, Chris and I have been philosophising in the Cbox, and I came up wuith the bright idea to record our ideas here, before they a lost to the Chatango memeory forevers
Anybody of course should feel free to comment on what's been said, and to offer your own ideas. I know that most of us here are mature individuals so I shouldn't have to say this, but just remember that everybody is entitled to their opinions and while you can of course argue on a point with a valid defence, do not simply verbally discard views just because they do not reflect your own.
I was born and raised a Roman Catholic. the teahching of said denomination dictates that there is one God, who is omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent (all-present, all-seeing, and all-powerful). Recently I thought that if God exists everywhere, he msut be enteined with matter/antimatter in some way. I wasn't too sure of how this worked, but yesterday I have a most enlightening chemistry lesson ^.^ Behold the atom:
Well, the basic diagram. A helium atom I'm pretty sure... Anyways. All of the part of space we exist in is made up of atoms. There's the nucelus, and theres the electrons orbittinhg it, but what lies in between? Sure, there's stuff like neutrinos and quarks and suchlike, which at Year 10 education isnt really my forte but still, there is a space. If God is everywhere, why could he not be in this space, a hive mind of some inivisble (possibley the Higgs or God particle, the properties/idea of which I'm not well versed) substance?
There is also the matter of life, and the soul. If we, sentient human beings cabable of emotion and creativity, are based upon building blocks that are not alive, how can we be capale of aforementinoed things? My theory is, that all living creatures and plants have a high 'concentration of God' in them, if that makes sense. Also, I think maybe humans have an even higher concentration of God, therefore they are self-aware. If anyone has read the His Dark Materials trilogy by Phillip Pullman, my idea is similiar to Dust; a sentient substance that collects around things of value and makes them sentient. also, there is the part near the end of the last book, where the souls of the dead are seen to dissapitate, combining with anture. Maybe the afterlife is when we reach a similiar state to this 'sub-atomic God'?
*exhales* Okay, i think thats my entire personal belief system, I may add more later xD Let me know what you guys think of it, and of course, your own personal ideologies
