Robin Hood sat on one great rock by the great sea, staring out into the open waters ahead. His bow and arrow discarded on a smaller rock beside him. The sea looked mighty calm today. How many times had he swam against the currents and enjoyed the feel of fighting against it. Sometimes winning, sometimes losing. No matter how ferocious the waves were, Robin always made it a point to give it, or rather himself, a challenge every now and then.
The sea always makes him feel alive. This world here, it felt really strange to him yet at the same time comfortable. He knew, at the back of his mind, this is not where he really lives. He could feel himself being attached to another world. He'd met people here who told him they were students at Somnium Academy in the Waking World. Was that also where he or the other part of himself lived? Was he also a student in the Waking World? How come those other folks know who they are while he does not? And what is the Waking World anyway? Where is it? Is it beyond the great waters? Or the great mist? So many questions, not many answers.
Robin had been mulling about that part of himself again today, and this was the perfect place where he knew he could find some peace and quiet. He hoped the sea would cooperate. Another thing that Robin loved about the sea, next to its ferocious waves and (sometimes) calming atmosphere, were the sea creatures that dwell beneath it. He had met the sea nymph a few times, saw a merman every now and then. Of course, the sea turtles and the multi-colored fishes never fail to make his day. While Robin calls the forest his home, the sea was where he was more at peace. Probably because there weren’t a lot of random things falling on your head every now and then.
He took in one long and deep breath, enjoying the feel of the saltwater breeze as it entered his nose and filled his lungs. He had initially meant to come and just take a nap by the shore with the calming sound of the waves beating against his ear. But the great blue was calling to him as he sat there. A call he had never declined ever. He couldn’t find the heart to.
He had thrown his feathered hat over his bow and arrow, and was now removing his belt and then his tunic off his back. His took his boots off, and then started walking barefoot towards where the water kissed the sand. His dagger, tied securely around his waist, never leave him. He knew that despite the undersea wonders, it was not always exactly free of danger.
Robin walked further into the water until it reached his hips, and then with an impish grin, he dived into it loving the feel of the water as it caressed every skin of his body, soothing every tired muscle, invigorating him. He hoped the sea would clear and at the same time open his mind. He needed answers. He needed them real bad.

The bright pink-orange coloring of her dress began to creep up slowly, indicating that her time here was about to end. A slight feeling of sadness overswept her, she had so much fun, today. Playing in the Underwater Circus with her red headed friends, she especially hoped to see Ru-ru, once more.
She took her ukelele and played a few blind notes, some sounded sweet and melodical, while the others were strained and fumbled over. K didn't mind this, she was still learning, after all.
The sun was very bright and clear, earlier it had been storming, and the sky looked like gold paint was spilled over it and the angels didn't bother to clean up their mess. She stopped walking, and turned. There was a man, almost waist deep, in the water. She felt like she had to warn him, the maelstorm was not too far from where he was, and if he'd been sucked into it...well, that'd be the last she'd see of him.
"Hey! Sir, please be careful! It's dangerous!" She moved her arms wildly about, he probably couldn't even hear her. Being in the body of a six year old was and is a hard thing for K, no one took her seriously, and more than likely, this man didn't either.
"Hey! Listen!" she thrashed violently throughout the water, a slight misstep, and she soon found herself underneath. Her initial reaction was to try the trick she learned not too ago, it didn't work, of course. She tried screaming, her protests became muffled by the water. Was it angry with her? She didn't have time to think, she needed to get out.

Robin braved the oncoming waves one strong stroke after another. He was not exactly a champion swimmer but he could hold his own against the raging waters. He opened his eyes to the wonder of the great sea down under, and started to marvel at the kaleidoscope of colors it presented him.
He was snapped out of his momentary enchantment, however, when his ears caught faint but frantic splashing from behind him. He turned to see a flurry of bubbles scatter from a point where he thought he saw human arms and legs flailing aimlessly. Someone seemed to have swum after him, and was now struggling to stay afloat.
Without any hesitation, Robin kicked his powerful legs and swam his way towards the figure, holding his breath for as long as he could. Why this “being” jumped into the waters when it didn’t seem to know how to swim was beyond him. All he knew right now was to get whoever it was back to safety.
The flailing continued as he neared the figure, and Robin wasted no time to wrap his arms around it. But just as he was about to take both of them back up to the surface, he felt something wrap around them, and was pulling them further down. He tried to wiggle themselves out of it, but it seemed stronger than he was.
He remembered the dagger wound around his waist, and hoped that it would be enough to cut whatever it was that was trapping them underwater. He needed to act soon. His lungs were starting to run out of air, and so it seemed the person in his arms. He had to act fast or else both of them will die.
Good thing his arms were free. He tried to pry the rope-like thing that had gripped them in an attempt to loosen it but to no avail. He snatched his dagger, but before he could move to cut it, it pulled them a few more feet downwards, and Robin felt water rush through his nose and mouth.

Arms. Strong arms. For a minute there, she believed she was safe. Yes, she was going to live, and she was going to owe her life to one who saved her. But, before they were able to reach the surface, another pair of...something, she couldn't describe it yet, wrapped around them both, pulling them backward, pulling them into....'The Maelstrom!'
She was afraid, her savior tried cutting through the rope-like appendages (they resembled tentacles to her), but it was hopeless, he was sinking, too. At least, she thought it was a he. Her body began to lax, K's arms still clung to the figure in fear of being sucked in herself. There had to be a way, she didn't know what would be their fate if the maelstrom did swallow them both whole, but she didn't want to find out.
"Help." it was a simple request, but it was enough, her pendant began to glow an eye-scorching light, she couldn't even look at it directly, blinding whatever tried to pull them down. She was unconscience when her body (along with Robin's) floated over the water, it was when she landed on the shore when was she finally came to.
She blinked, her eyes began to get used to sun once more, she looked towards her hero. Was he alright? Was he angry? And more importantly, why did he want to save her?

Robin’s mind scrambled for ways and means how to get themselves free from this thing that was pulling them farther and farther from the surface and the shore. Presence of mind, presence of mind. He kept telling himself to keep from panicking. He knew he needed to gather all his wits and courage and not let the thing take them --- whatever it was. Nature was such a cruel cruel force to be reckoned with. He and the kid in his arms were just unfortunate to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.
He continued to slash through the tentacles that had gripped them, thankful that at least it wasn’t crushing them…yet. But still to no avail. It didn’t even seem to notice what Robin had been trying to do. Then a blinding light flashed between them, and Robin had to stop whatever he was doing as he turned his head away and closed his eyes. He had thought that had been the end of them, then he felt the grip loosen from their waist. They were free.
Whatever the light was, it had saved them, and now they are both back on the surface. Robin still had his arms around the little kid as they floated safely back to the shore. He could feel fear and panic rise through him when he thought the kid lifeless. A silent sigh of relief then escaped him when the kid blinked and looked at him with wide open eyes. He flashed her a smile. It was his little friend K.
”What in King Reginald’s name are you doing braving the sea like that all by yourself? You're not trying to drown yourself, are you?” he asked half teasing, half concerned. Sure, it was easier to joke around now that they were safe from whatever it was that was trying to kill them both.

Robin? Good 'ole Robin Hood came to save the day (as he usually does) she moved up to give him a hug, but he had to open his...mouth.
”What in King Reginald’s name are you doing braving the sea like that all by yourself? You're not trying to drown yourself, are you?” Drown herself? DROWN HERSELF?! Oh, she'll show him.
She grabbed a handful of wet sand and threw it in his direction, "ME? I WAS TRYING TO KEEP YOU FROM KILLING YOURSELF!" How dare he! She was the one who was trying to save him from dying! "What were you thinking!" Splat! "Swimming out there, all by yourself!" Splat! "Or did you forget about the maelstrom!" SPLAT!
K was more annoyed at herself than angry at him, again, her size triumphed in placing her in harm's way.

Robin knew he should have kept his mouth shut the moment he saw the look on K’s face. He had managed to give her one sheepish grin before a handful of wet sand landed his way. His hands instinctively reached up to shield his face from the onslaught, but a few still managed to hit him on the shoulder, on his face.
”Hey!” Splat! ”I didn’t—“ Splat! ”Of course, I--” Splat!
He peeked out from behind his feeble little shield to see if K was going to throw a few more wet sand his way. When he saw that the barrage seem to have ended, he put his hands down and spit out sand that managed to get into his mouth.
”I was just enjoying a nice easy swim,” he said defending himself weakly, as he tried, unsuccessfully, to wipe down the sand from his wet clothes. He knew what the little kid was saying was right. It was dangerous out there.
”You didn’t have to put yourself in danger, K. If something happened to you…” he added, his voice trailing off at the last words. Now that he knew that K was trying to stop him, he felt guilt rush through him.

"Like WHAT?" she stopped her punishment and instead gave a look of disappointment with a slight tinge of hurt, "You're just like everyone else..." K wiped her eyes, and turned away from him.
She hated her size, she was always looked over, or patronized, as if she didn't have a brain. Which hurt more than anything else in the Dream World to her. And to think, her own friend, would do something like that! She gave off a sigh, the silence was starting to become uncomfortable.

"Awww, come on, K. I don't mean it like that." Robin knew K didn't like to be treated like the little kid that she is. He knew she could be capable of so much more, and Robin was worried not because she was small. "I'm worried because you're my friend, and I don't want you hurt or anything," he added as he reached a hand out to tuck a stray strand of hair behind her ear.
He was very much fond of K. She's like the little sister he never had. It'd be his conscience if he let anything happen to her. "I'd rather drown myself to save you, you know that," he said as he scooted over next to her. He gave her a gentle jab by her shoulder and smiled. "But really, thank you for what you did out there. That was you, was it? That blinding light was mighty powerful," he complimented her.

"A light?" she tried to remember, it was very vague. K remembered something blue, not the water, but...something else. It covered them, like a blanket or a mother's arms, and she had the feeling as if she being lifted.
"That was really me?" she asked, a bit surprised by the fact. She never suspected that she was capable of doing more than wandering around and getting herself in trouble. She grabbed his hand and stood, gesturing for a walk.
A question that has been bothering her for awhile was finally going to see the light, "Robin," she began, "Have you ever heard of the waking world?"

Robin gave K a big reassuring smile when she seemed surprised at what she did earlier. "It definitely wasn't me. And the light came from somewhere between us. So two minus one equals you," he said grinning. He was surprised that she was surprised at what she did, but otherwise Robin was just thankful they were safe.
He stood up as K took his hand and they started walking. He made a quick dash to where he had initially dumped his shirt and stuff, and then walked back to where K was after he had put them on. Then K asked him about the waking world. He didn't know anything about it until he met the M-Car and Hatter. But even after that, it had been a quick and unhelpful conversation.
"I have been told about it, but don't really know what it means or where it is. All I know is that some of the beings that we met here are students at this Somnium Academy which resides in the waking world, and they enter this world while they're asleep or something. I haven't really grasped much of it." He was curious now. "Why do you ask? Do you know where it is?"

OOC: It's good to be back! She looked at him, searching for something to say, "Well...I thought you would know." She paused, "Uhm, I always imagine what kind of person I'd be there, and I have made two conclusions on who I might be." She stopped, breathed in and exclaimed, "I'm either a powerful sorcerer who lives in a castle, or," she cleared her throat, "a student. And if I'm a student, she should look like me, only a lot older and taller!"

[[ OOC: Yes, it is. Sorry I disappeared when you came back. Real life called. Hope you're still there. ]]
Robin's shoulders sagged when K told him she had hoped he would know. "I'm really sorry," was all he managed to say. Then his ears perked as K continued to muse about what or who she might be in that other world.
"I am most likely a student as well," he replied. Then something clicked inside his head. Maybe there was a way to find out. "I've been feeling this pull for days now, and I can't shake it off. We should do an experiment of sorts, find a way to know who we are in that other world. How to do it though...I wouldn't know. Any ideas?" he asked K. Maybe they could ask the King or the Guides.
