Riane knocked on the door once before she entered the room. Being new she had her stuff with her outside the door and was getting funny looks from the passing girls. Something told her that she was going to be the weird girl or rather the not so normal one. Not like she cared anyway.
She came in and put stuff on the right side of the room. Her guitar was on the bed while she unpacked.

Liotta stopped outside her room door. She noticed it was slightly open which raised the girl's curiosity. She wondered if she had finally got a roommate. Joy flowed throughout the girls body. Cool. My first roommate ever.
Sliding into the room, Liotta noticed a girl unpacking. "Hi!" Liotta said a little too loud. Oops. She didn't want to scare her new roommate with her childish antics. It's not like she had a choice though anyway. "I'm Liotta Mahrana. You must be my new roommate. Nice to meet you." The girl outstretched a hand before moving to sit on her bed, pulling a white stuffed bunny onto her lap.

Raine didn't hear the door open. She was to busy humming her favorite song to herself to notice. She was taking out her cloths and putting them in a drawer, folding them neatly.
Her suit case was nearly unpacked when she heard a voice behind her. "Hi!" the girl behind her said a little to loud. Raine jump and turned around. "Hi," Raine smiled at the girl. It was a shock to hear the girl at first but she meant no harm.
She took the girls out reached hand to shake it. "I'm Raine Abney," she said then sat on her bed. She pulled out the stuffed wolf. "I'm glad I'm not the only one with a stuffed animal," she pointed to the bunny in Liotta's arms.

A huge grin plastered itself on Liotta's face when she noticed the animal in Raine's arms. "Yeah, I know. I love my animals though. They're like a mix between my babies and my best friends." Liotta hesitated, her words clicking in her mind."I hope that didn't sound too weird." She chuckled. It probably did sound weird though.
Gently placing the bunny in the far right corner of her bed, Liotta turned to Raine. I should get to know her better, I guess."So,"Liotta drew out the word slowly. "...tell me about yourself." In the back of her mind, there was a nagging voice in the back of her mind but the girl couldn't grasp what was wrong. Picking up a pad and a pen, Liotta started doodling, still keeping most of her attention on the other girl in the room. "Don't worry. I'm still listening."

Raine smiled at her. "No that wasn't weird at all," she laughed. Maybe she would make a friend.
Raine sat down on her bed cross legged. She placed her wolf in her lap. She heard Liotta but was busy watching her draw. Raine came back to earth in a few seconds. "Well I'm new for sure," Raine said. "I'm from a small town and my dad sent me here. I really didn't want to go but here I am." Raine paused and thought about what she was going to say. "You are my first roommate, unless you count my friend back home who I slept with before I came here." Before Liotta could d anything she added, "He is gay."
Raine laid back on her pillow. "I miss him, a lot. And I miss my horse, Starwalker." Raine turned on her said and looked at Liotta. "Do you have question you want to ask? I'm not good at free styling, I guess."

Liotta continued drawing what her mind told her too. Still fully aware of Raine though, she listened to her speak and nodded. "Gay people are nice."She spoke, now shading in circle that had made it's way onto the paper. "Hm, horses are scary. Always afraid I'm gonna get stepped on." She muttered to herself. Looking up for a minute to examine her work, Liotta frowned. For all that nagging her mind was doing, all she wanted was a cookie. "No. I don't have any questions. I'm not too good at talking about myself either." Setting her pad down on the bed, Liotta turned to look on the floor and picked up a jar that had a big 'L' on it in purple. She removed the top and pulled out a sugar cookie. I wish I had some chocolate chip. She sighed. Taking a bite out of it, she faced Raine. "Would you like one?"

Raine took out a picture of Starwalker. It was him eating a sugercube. Her father was handing it to him. She passed it on to Liotta. "That is Starwalker and my dad," she said. "That was about a year ago."
Raine sat up and grabbed her wolf. She dug around in her suitcase for the tin her father gave her. It had cookies in it, he made them. She found the tin and pulled it out. She popped the top open and pulled out a chocolate chip cookie. It looked fine but her father probably forgot something. She took a bite out of it and had to force herself to swallow. "To much salt," she put the cookie back in the tin and closed it. "Good old dad and his amazing cooking skills."
She looked back at Liotta. "Yeah I'll have one. You mind telling me something about yourself?"

Glancing over the photo, Liotta grinned. It was a really pretty horse. Too bad she too much of a scaredy cat to go near one. While she watched Raine take the cookie she ripped the sheet of paper out of the pad, crumpled it up and tossed it across the room. She missed the wastebasket. Standing up to put it in the can, Liotta pouted.
"About me, eh? Where to start?" She chuckled. "Hm, well, I have a brain disorder. I don't really remember what it was called but most of my brain hasn't developed past the age of around five to seven. That's why I'm so childish. Anyway, I came here on my own." The girl sat down on the bed and giggled. "I thought that I should help my mommy and daddy get rid of their biggest problem. Me. I don't prefer to talk about it because people usually avoid me after they know, even though I'm a nice girl." Liotta picked her bunny back up and made it dance, a big smile on her face.

Raine listened to her talk. She was interested in what Liotta had to say. And what she said was something Raine had never heard before. A brain disorder was something new to Raine all together. She had grown up around, what she thought to be, normal people. "That is different," Raine said. "I've never heard of a brain disorder before."
Raine could see the child side of Liotta. She thought it was normal now. She didn't care if her roommate was different, she was too. She didn't really understand it but she thought as time when on she would.
"I like being around you," Raine picked up her guitar. "I've learned not to care about what other people think." She played a few notes then started to tune her guitar. "People are sometimes really mean."

A smile played across Liotta's features as she heard Raine complement her. She watched her roommate pick up a guitar and tilted her head. She was terrible at most things, heck, the only thing she could do was cook and paint, but she watched as Raine played some notes and then turned a knob, obviously tuning it. "So you play guitar? Well, duh, of course you do. Nevermind that. Anyway, I think it's cool." Liotta looked around the room, slightly in thought. "Do you mind if I draw you like that. It's inspiring." She laughed. "I just wanted to warn you in case I stare at you."
Liotta stood and skipped over to the closet, opened it up and pulled out a black and yellow overnight bad. Tugging at the zipper, the girl stuck her hand in and grabbed her sketchpad, mechanical pencil, and her black pen. Pushing the bag back into the closet and walking back to her bed, Liotta took in a deep breath. Flipping through the pages, she looked at her finished pieces: her mom's portrait, a full moon surrounded by a forest of trees, her old best guy and girl friends arm wrestling, and a sketch of her bear. She smiled as she dug out Mr.Bear from underneath her pillow.

Raine gave a faint nod to the girl and kept tuning her guitar. She didn't mind if she was drawn. She found the whole idea cool. She couldn't draw to save her life, unless you count stick figures. She could draw awesome stick figures. But then again most people could draw awesome stick figures. "I can't draw to save my life," she laughed.
"I hope you don't mind if my hand moves," she told Liotta. "Let me know if I need to stop moving it." She started to strum her guitar. She played a song she wrote, even if it was just the music. So far she hadn't come up with words for it. Maybe it didn't need words.

Liotta sat down in front of her roommate and flipped to an open page in her pad and pushed down on her pencil's eraser, exposing the lead inside of it and shook her head. "Ignore me. You can move all you want. Once I get an image planned out in my head, it's hard to loose." Smiled at Raine and regarded her for a while, taking in the acute details that she needed to remember most and committing her hand shape to memory. That was going to be the most moved feature so she needed to get a basic shape in her mind. She looked at her paper again when she decided on the image. Starting out with sketching Raine's body shape and the shape of the guitar, Liotta frowned. She wanted something different, not exactly what she was seeing in front of her. Pausing for another few minutes, Liotta mentally scrambled through different drawings and finally decided on a new one.

Raine started to move her hand up and down. She strummed the stings and lost herself in the music. It was something she loved to do. She would write something then completely lose herself.
She started humming along with the song. Her best friend came up with words for it. They were both tired and maybe drunk that night. It was a possibility because he was a rebel and did things his parents disapproved of. She loved him for that. She tired different things before him.

Liotta's hand moved swiftly across the bright white paper as she listened to Raine's song. Although drawing wasn't her medium, one has to learn how to draw before they can paint, she gave it her all. Man, I wish I had my easel. She thought, shading in the side of the guitar.
Time flew past as she finished her drawing. She hadn't looked at the time, but Liotta could tell that more than 10 minutes had passed. Tossing her pencil aside, Liotta took a long, hard look at the finished product. A smile crossed her face. "Alright! All done." She said as she jumped up and sat next to her roommate. "Look." Liotta turned the paper towards Raine, showing a picture of an angel similar to Raine playing the guitar. The background shaded with what looked like bubbles. "Does it look okay?"

Humming to her none existent song Raine lost focus on the world for a bit. She drifted off and really paid no attention to Liotta while she worked.
When Liotta came and sat on her bed she regained her attention to her. Raine looked over the drawing. It was amazing. That might have just been from a really poor artist view but she loved it. "It looks amazing," she vocalized her thoughts. "I love it!"
Raine sat up and placed her guitar on her pillow. "You're really good at this," Raine kept looking at the drawing.

Liotta clapped her hands together. She had thought her skills were getting a little rusty. "Thanks. I appreciate it." She overlooked the drawing again before pushing it over to Raine. "Pencil really isn't my medium. I'm a painter but keep it, it's yours." Liotta stifled a yawn. It wasn't that she was tired, she just always did that when she was bored.
"I'm bored now. Ah, did you write a song to go with that tune. You were humming earlier. You should sing it." Liotta cheered, getting overly excited. I'm sure you have a pretty voice." Liotta jumped up to get her supplies before sitting back down on Raine's bed. She probably doesn't mind me sitting here.

Raine took the drawing. She looked for tape in her bag and found some, oddly enough. She placed the picture on the wall and taped it up. "I think that is a nice place for it," Raine smiled then sat down again.
She pulled the guitar back in her lap. She strummed it again. "The words are not really for the tune," she laughed at the memory. "Me and my friend were tired and possibly drunk when he started rambling off words." She strummed some more. "I really don't have words yet. My heart doesn't have any for the tune, maybe it never will." She started form the beginning. The notes just seemed to flow off her finger tips. "I can sing though," she smiled. "Come in handy when you are in a musical."

Liotta nodded knowingly as she listened to Raine talk although she didn't really know anything at all. She didn't believe most of what Raine was saying. Every song needs lyrics and every song has lyrics. She just might not be the person to make them up. Liotta was snapped out of her thoughts at the sound of her roommates voice. "You were in a musical?" Liotta pouted. "No fair. I'm jealous. I couldn't even get into one of my school plays." She chuckled, rubbing the back of her neck. "Guess I'm more brains than talent."
She took in a deep breath and slapped her hands on her legs. "Anyway, tell me those drunken lyrics. If you remember them and feel like it that is." Liotta was having fun. She loved all forms of art and made her interest greatly known. Well, it was who she was.

Raine smiled at Liotta. "I was only in one," she said and strummed some more. "And the lyrics were so bad I don't remember half of them." she laughed.
She started over again and thought about the beginning. "I'm a kangaroo and you're a butterfly," she sang almost laughing. "And we make the perfect twooooo," she continued. She hummed the next part because she didn't remember the words. "And we eat cheese and like bumblebees," she was half sining and half laughing.
She couldn't go on. She was laughing to much. "There is a taste of the drunken lyrics," she laughed.

Liotta silently watched her friend, a huge smile plastered on her face. It was fun watching people laugh. Although the words that were coming out of her mouth were random, it was still enjoyable. "Well, that was something else, wasn't it?" Liotta said when her friend stopped singing/laughing. "You could really tell that you were drunk or hyped up on something because I don't get how a butterfly and a kangaroo are perfect together. Nope." She shook her head in that almost violent way that kids do sometimes.
"Ah, I feel like moving around now." Liotta stood to shake out her limbs. Sitting back on the floor, she spread her legs open and leaned down over them to stretch out her inner thigh muscles. She held it until the pain started to subside before getting up and doing some jumping-jacks. Sitiing back on her bead, Liotta groaned. "I should work out more."

Raine smiled and leaned against the wall. She missed him. Him and his random world of his. He was her best friend. She missed him but she was making new ones. "Yeah me either. I think it was our first time drunk and possibly the first time he had a," she didn't know how to phrase that he had had sex with her that night too. "he had fun with a girl."
She watched Liotta stand and stretch. "A lot of people should but I chose not to," she smiled. "I dislike it. And besides I do enough running. Half the boys here are skit chasers."
