King Reginald Kingly
HALT, WHO GOES THERE?
character basics
NICKNAMES: King or The King or The Just and Noble King Reginald (he dislikes being called Reggie, or Rex or any other shortened form of his name)
AGE: Looks around 35, real age is unknown
SPECIES: Human
GENDER: Male
PLAY-BY: Hugh Jackman.appearance
Reginald stands tall at about six feet two inches and would probably be considered quite an attractive fellow if he didn't have the tendency to look bemused most of the time.
His clothing is of very good quality, although it is rather limited. In fact he only has two or three outfits in his collection, which he alternates every other day. Because he wear the same items of clothing so often they tend to get a bit tattered around the edges, despite their initial good quality.
Reginald doesn't have a crown (although not for lack of trying to find one) so instead wears a little yellow paper crown, which he remakes every morning.personality
Likes: being king; his castle (which is vast and mostly empty); his court jester (most of time); knowing he's more superior than others, liquorice; the occasional drink (though he is an incredible lightweight); holding Royal Balls (although it's mainly just him and the Jester who attends); himself.
Dislikes: being told he isn't king; insubordination; rain (it makes his crown go floppy); things not being done; being hungry for too long; being bored (which he unfortunately is quite often); not knowing what's going on in his kingdom.
Fears: mice; not being king and having to live like a commoner.
Goals: getting a real crown (with jewels and everything); perhaps finding himself a queen.
Reginald, The King as he prefers to be called, is outwardly quite a pompous sort who considers him above the entire population of the Dream World. He tries to portray himself as a harsh yet just leader, respected by all his subjects. Unfortunately he doesn't quite manage this as, firstly, it is difficult to be harsh when barely anyone listens and, secondly, it is even more difficult to be just when one is lacking in basic common sense and logic. He is also quite a coward, although he uses his kingly status to make sure nobody notices this. He is particularly thoughtless, not particularly out any meanness but just out of forgetfullness. Despite sometimes ordering executions (which, of course, are never carried out), Reginald can actually be a nice guy, if a bit bumbling, clueless, and deluded.family & history
Reginald's origins, like many of the creatures of the Dream World, is a bit of a mystery. He remembers being young, around ten years old, and playing King of the Castle where he, of course, was always the King. However the time and memories between his ten year old self and his currently self is exceptionally hazy. He tries not to remember too much about his past as it always gives him a terrible headache.
How Reginald even came to be King of the Dream World is another mystery. Even he himself doesn't really know. Nevertheless he considers himself to be the true King, constantly saying that his blood is bluer than anybody else's he knows so it must be him. He has no family that he knows of.
Reginald lives in the grand Castle Demens, which stand atop of the hill in the Fifth Square of the Dream World. He mainly stays in one room, the throne room, most of the time (which he also where he sleeps as the throne, quite usefully, can convert into a single bed). The only other person who lives in the castle with him is his loyal court jester, who is almost always by his side. Reginald, although he would never admit it, would be completely lost without the Jester, who not only entertains him but cooks and cleans for him as well.
It is assumed that he named himself Reginald Kingly, although if asked he would deny it.
