Celestius holds herself with a warrior’s prowess. She walks with a predator’s grace that can intimidate many of a meeker quality. Her eyes are always darting side to side, alert and ready. However, this is also a sign of how easily her mind wanders. She keeps a stoic exterior, hiding all but a few of her twitches. However, in times of stress, she will clutch the sword she keeps constantly at her side.
When she is highly amused, she will show it with nothing more than a small smirk in polite company. Thorough training helps her suppress the natural urges her personality lends her to. Her eyes are usually narrowed, pride a condescension eking out from the bright green orbs. Her body is athletic, showing just barely beneath the tanned skin the definition of her well-toned muscles. Her armor is heat-scarred from exposure to her element, a definition of her as a person, rarely leaving her body.
Her hair falls to the top of her shoulder blades, kept manageable and oft in a ponytail. Her fingers are slender but knotted from strong grip on her sword hilt, her nails kept short so as not to break and cause her harm.personality
Likes - The feeling of crunching sand beneath her feet, the sound of water beating against the shore. Things that remind her of home.
Dislikes - Fear and cowardice. The two walk hand in hand, and both are foolish wastes of time.
Fears - Failure, but would never admit to it.
Goals - She has been sent to find Fedafyr to kill him, conform him, or otherwise report to the court of the sixth square of his activities.
Curiosity.
Celestius has always been something of an oddity to her race. Her curiosity is what sets her apart from the mainly combat oriented society. Never before her was the society questioned. Always the rules were followed, always was there order. She put a chink that nobody would ever forget—even through the turn of the stock. She excelled in her swordplay through application of her mind, transcending the simple talent that had long been regarded as the basis for choice.
Passion.
She was not alien to the pride that her race exhibits, her mouth not quiet nor her mind restful. The feeling of peace is attractive, the sensuality of slow quiet alluring… and just beyond her own reach. Her attraction to Fedafyr is fueled by this intellectual longing. Passion is her race’s great attribute, and Celestius is nothing if not passionate, even possibly to an excess looked down upon by her own people.
Loyalty.
The integral unity of the fire is part of her, but beyond that, Celestius forges her bonds strong. She desires more than anything to bring Fedafyr home safe and cured, though she is unaware what disease truly eats at his conscious mind. She would defy the court to save these bonds.
Fear.
Her stoic façade, a necessity in her society’s culture, seems a little too easily broken. Distasteful to her previous camaraderie, her amount of excitement seems to spark and fizzle quickly. The bonds to which she holds are few, and the enemies created from simple lack of etiquette are many. She tries so hard to perform to perfection that she loses the weaker facets of her personality in her attempts to avoid the only word she can voice as a true fear: Failure.family & history
Multiple fire sprites exist as a race of individuals with ideals similar to the Spartans as opposed to a single entity. The majority age at a rate most comparable to that of elves. One of these sprites is chosen to transcend onto the council as the fire elemental and gain immortality. This immortality must be passed on from one to the next before it is extinguished entirely, leaving the race to die completely.
Celestius' life began with training, just as all her fellow sprites. Her mentor was a battle-hardened warrior, with little time for mischief and little patience. Celestius taught herself very quickly to avoid the questions burning on her mind, asking them only brought pain, and more questions. This training was mainly in sword, as well as other forms of combat. It also included battle and political tactics. She was taught to show a shrewd and callous interior, despite her naturally excitable and curious personality.
Early in life, tired of training, excited to see new things, Celestius wandered away from her studies. During her wanderings, she stumbled upon Fedafyr, the speaker of earth. They became good friends over time and would later stand together on the council.
After her short and fruitful wandering, Celestius returned to the stern arms of her mentor. Her punishment was undecided, as the nature of her crime was one never before explored amongst her people. Along with her new found friendship as motivation, her curiosity was her boon as it led her to learn much more quickly than her fellows. She also held the capacity to learn a great deal more, as more knowledge fed her interest. This came across as a natural talent to her mentor and he put her quickly above the rest as his favorite. Because of this favoritism, she was chosen to be amongst the 7 to ascend as potential heirs to the Fire Elemental.
The new elemental was chosen by the old on instinct, and nothing more. Celestius was the one his instincts chose. What remained was the ceremony to pass on the light. The ceremony was performed in a small room in which all the candidates remain. However, only Celestius emerged at the end. This labeled her as the next Elemental.
When Fedafyr disappeared, the council began to send scouts to find him. After they failed to return, she requested to be sent in search of him, as the best available warrior in their ranks.
