The subjects to study at Somnium Academy are relatively normal and are based around the British education system.

Year 10 Students
Students in Year 10 are aged 14 to 15. This is the year that they begin their General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE).
Compulsory subjects are Maths, English and The Sciences (Physics, Biology & Chemistry).
Students can choose a range of other subjects to fit around that and most students choose about nine or ten subjects all together.
Subjects to choose include: Art and Design, French, German, Spanish, Latin, Economics, History, Geography, Psychology, Music, etcetera.

-&-
Year 11 Students
Students in Year 11 (age 15 to 16) carry on with their GCSE subjects to a more advanced level. At the end of Year 11 they have their final GCSE exams.

-&-
Year 12 Students
Year 12 Students (age 16 to 17) have finished with their GCSEs and are now moving on to Advanced Subsidiary level (AS level). Students choose three or more subjects from their GCSEs to carry on to advanced levels.
AS level exams occur at the end of Year 12.

-&-
Year 13 Students
The final year of Somnium Academy (age 17 to 18) move on from AS levels to A2 in order to complete their Advanced level (A level). Students either continue on with their AS level choices in Year 12 or drop some. However, they must have at least three subjects to carry on with their A levels.
