>>appearance
Aiden is, by no means, a small guy. Standing around 6'3'', his body is riddled with muscles. He doesn't work out, but he has spent great amounts of time lifting things and moving around, since he is far too fidgety to stay in one place at once. He's extremely strong, not a person to mess around with, but he's not particularly agile, since his lungs have been coated over and over with the tar of tobacco. He's got naturally pale skin which, though he spends plenty of time outside, doesn't tan very easily, which, coupled with his contrasting dark hair hair, makes him look almost ghostly at times.. Despite his size and slowness, he doesn't lack grace and tends to be able to move between things elegantly, in an almost feline way.
His features aren't anything special. He was blessed at birth with dull brown hair and even duller brown eyes that never really morphed into anything particularly spectacular. His hair, which falls just above his eyes, is a bit different now, as he dyes it a more appealing blonde, but that doesn't change nature. His teeth aren't perfectly white or perfectly straight, but they look normal enough and his smile, when he uses it [which is rare] is a nice one. He is generally found scowling or moping in general about the emonosity of his life.
His fashion consists of anything he considers "masculine," which could include all manner of things from cargo pants to wifebeaters, depending on his mood. The angrier he gets, the less clothing he wears, as it makes him sweat and that makes him angrier. Whether or not you can predict his clothing choice, you can always predict that he will have a cigarette in hand, usually in mouth. Smoking is his vice, the one thing that he can always count on, and, as such, he is always doing it. It doesn't matter that he always walks around in a cloud of smoke, or smells like stale peppermint because the mints don't fully cover up the stench of tobacco.personality
flaws/habits:
Anger Management Aiden has a tendency to explode at everything. Perhaps it comes from being the middle in a family that never paid much attention to its children anyway, but Aiden has never been one to contain his emotions, unless they are bad for his "image."
Stupidity He's pretty much an idiot. He can't even really be described as one of those "rebels" with hidden intelligence that everyone is always trying to pull out--Aiden is just generally stupid and can't handle being around too much intellect at once. It makes his pretty little head spin.
Rash Aiden acts on impulse and instinct, no matter the consequences. He isn't adept at thinking things through, nor is he particularly cogniscent of the future.
Smoker If chain smoking were an Olympic sport, Aiden Clarke would take the gold. He frequently walks about in a cloud of smoke, generally resembling a chimney.
Conceited The bee's knees, the cat's pajamas, the cream of the crop, Aiden thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread. It's a wonder that the lack of attention didn't cause his self esteem to suffer any but, somehow, it skipped over that part of the brain.
fears
Cars the accident that killed his sister seriously scarred him.
Lightning Because it's freaky. Who isn't at least mildly wary of lightning?
OverDosing His brother did it once. It was not an experience he wishes to repeat. Thus, Aiden almost never does hard drugs [except pot].
Aiden is the angry child. Everything on the planet seems to be able to piss him off and that just fuels his rash [and sometimes violent] decisions. He acts almost entirely on impulse, seemingly even more lacking in the ability to think with the frontal cortex than most teenagers. The only thing that is a surefire way to calm him down [ish] is tobacco, preferably in the form of a cigarette. When he's not in a particularly mind-numbing rage, he usually manages to bring his emotion down when he wants to hit on someone, but that isn't necessarily a foolproof solution.
He isn't the type of person, either, who is a layer of awful over a whole mess of good. True, he might have some good in him, but it is buried so completely that it would take a mack truck to unearth it. Aiden is rude, crude, and just generally mean all around. Added to that, he's got the brainpower of a lightswitch, so most clever things go over his head and too much class/brain-intensive activity makes him itchy. :]
While Aiden can't exactly be called "loyal," he does stick very, very thoroughly to what can only be known as the "Bro Code." While not all of his friends are of the same caliber, the ones he considers "Bros" will be treated like family--he will not sleep with their sisters, borrow money without paying them back, etc. He may still be a dickhead, but at least he's a trustworthy dickhead when you're on that side of the spectrum.
Aiden has a particularly addictive personality; hence the smoking and drinking. Though he's not cognisant of much, he is very aware of said addictions, which is why he's very careful [though no one would notice] about any other substances. With his wariness to get too attached to something and, thus, his unwillingness to do much, he has become very, very lazy. Most of the time, he lounges about and smokes. Or, if he's feeling particularly bored [which, he is usually at least a little bit], he'll drink. But he usually prefers to do that with a buddy.family & history

HISTORY:
As with most high-society births, Aiden's was no big to-do. He was born and immediately handed off to a nanny, just like his two siblings before him, and that was that. He was always a very spoiled and demanding child, prone to yelling and throwing things unless he got his way. Of course, the nannies were always instructed to give the Clarke children whatever they desired, and so Aiden never learned that this was wrong. By the time he was four, he was a little terror, causing nannies to quit and parents at the preschool he attended to complain.
Eventually, with the help of a particularly hardy nanny and a few teachers, Aiden learned some discipline and was much less terrifying by the time he turned eight. He was always a problem child, though, and was still put into time out and all that jazz at his private elementary school. He got bad grade reports, picked on other kids, even got into the small-child equivalent of fights. Frequently.
It was in the later grades of middle school, as it always seems to be, that Aiden really turned in to the proper problem child. As his hormones went on a wild rampage, so did his mouth, and he was constantly being reprimanded, given detention, and failing. Though he did, somehow, manage to pass all grades without much problem, he never really passed that well, and so it was very, very difficult for his parents to make sure that he got into a good school. They had to promise to have him turned around as soon as possible, which they then set out to do.
For the entire summer between eighth and ninth grade, Aiden attended biweekly therapy and tutoring sessions, trying to get his IQ and emotional capacity up to par before he began high school. At first, it seemed to be working. There were a few therapy sessions where Aiden came back pissier than he'd gone, but most of the time, he seemed fairly content and much more relaxed. His tutors said that all of his results were very, very positive and that he was a bright boy underneath all of that defiance.
So, with that positivity under his and his parents' belts, he was sent to Waldorf. Of course, out from under the watchful eye, Aiden started to revert a bit--more cigarettes, more booze. And then he went home for the weekend.
Most of the weekend was particularly uneventful--he yelled at his parents, they yelled back, he fought with his brother, he attended therapy--the drill. However, that sunday, when his father was driving him to therapy and Vanessa to her piano lesson, the car next to them swerved directly into the passenger side. It was thrown into a railing on the side of the road and, though Aiden and his father, both being on the driver side, were relatively ok, Vanessa never had a chance of making it out of the scrapmetal and she died, later that night, in the hospital.
He stayed home from school for another week, attending the therapy sessions at least once a day, but his parents finally decided that he needed to go back. When he did, however, it was a huge mistake. Aiden vascillated between lashing out and clamming up, a trend which pleased no one at the school and so, finally, he was allowed to go home again. For four months, he was homeschooled by a private tutor, went to therapy daily, and only socialized with those people he had been friends with before the accident.
When he finally went back to school, the first thing he did was promptly lose his virginity, which provided him a slightly better release from his problems than his drinking and smoking. Since then, he's morphed into the worst version of himself he could be, but at least he's not at the low he was during those months at home. That would be terrible.dream form
Aiden isn't the most creative of people and he never has been, which makes for a seriously dissappointing dream form. Whilst everyone else gets wings and flowers and all sorts of frilly things [...not that Aiden would want flowers or anything. he is, after all, a man], Aiden is what he has always been: a shadow of himself. He doesn't get anything cool or special, just a faded version of himself. the fact that he can't break away from being his own body when he should be something completely different probably stems from his vanity and inner demons. He cannot escape himself in life, why should he escape himself in his dreams?
